Building Something Great Starts with a Strong Foundation

Help Us Support Monterey Ridge Elementary School

Who We Are

In 2016, the Parent Teacher Association became a part of the Monterey Ridge Educational Foundation (Foundation). Around school, we are known as the Monarch Parent Teacher Foundation. We bring the Monterey Ridge Elementary School community together to raise funds and support the enrichment of our students. We not only provide financial support, we also coordinate volunteers for school activities and events.

The Monterey Ridge Parent Teacher Foundation (MPTF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing financial support for Monterey Ridge Elementary School (MRES) to expand and enhance the quality of education for all students attending the school.

We encourage Monarch family engagement and would love to have you join us!

What We Support

The education and enrichment of the students at Monterey Ridge Elementary School is outstanding. Unfortunately, State funding is often not sufficient to provide the level of excellence or breadth of exposure to supplemental programs. Keep reading to learn more about the programs and activities supported by the Foundation.

We Support Enrichment Activities

It wouldn't be elementary school without enrichment assemblies and art which is why our foundation sponsors both!

HIGHLIGHT: Art Program

Art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness. Visual arts teach learners about color, layout, perspective, and balance: all techniques that are necessary in presentations (visual, digital) of academic work. The art program at Monterey Ridge Elementary School is led by our wonderful art teacher, Ms. Kara. Ms. Kara is a California-based artist and loves teaching art to all ages. The foundation has also helped to establish the Cre8iv Space at MRES, where students dive into art lessons with Ms. Kara.

We Support Additional Staff and School Supplies

From teacher salaries to in-classroom technology, we are committed to improving each child's learning experience.

  • Grade level grants (educational materials)
  • New marquee to enhance family awareness of school communications and notices
  • Chromebooks purchased (allowing us to go one-to-one in grades 2-5)Purchased lower-grade level non-fiction readers for the library
  • Impact Program (including math and reading apps to help our struggling and advanced students)
  • lower-grade level non-fiction readers for the library

We Support Healthy Habits

Your health is your wealth which is why MPTF sponsors the garden program PE teachers and supplies.

HIGHLIGHT: Garden Program

In a school garden setting children can be exposed to important social skills, such as interpersonal, communication, anger control, and stress management. These skills are extremely important to ensure socially responsible adults. School gardens provide an opportunity for group work to take place. Monarch Garden began in 2009 and has provided many learning opportunities to the students and food to the community. The Monarch Garden provides a wonderful learning environment where the students can dive into hands on learning in science, math, nutrition, and more!

HIGHLIGHT: Monarchs on the Move

Physical education provides cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor

skills, knowledge, and behaviors for physical activity and physical fitness. By supporting MRES to establish physical education, we are able to provide students with the ability and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime. Through PE teachers, PE supplies, and our Running Club, students are encouraged to stay active.
