Building Something Great Starts with a Strong Foundation

Help Us Support Monterey Ridge Elementary School

Who We Are

The Monterey Ridge Parent Teacher Foundation (MPTF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing financial support for Monterey Ridge Elementary School (MRES) to expand and enhance the quality of education for all students. In 2016, the PTA joined the Educational Foundation and became the Monterey Ridge Parent Teacher Foundation (also known as Monarch Parent Teacher Foundation). Our tax identification number is 71-1015423.

We encourage Monarch family engagement and would love to have you join us!

What We Do

The Monarch Parent Teacher Foundation (MPTF) brings together the parents, teachers, and staff at Monterey Ridge Elementary School to enrich the experience of our students.

We fund student enrichment programs that would not exist otherwise, plan and host family events that bring the community together, facilitate fundraising efforts, supply resources that strengthen children’s learning experiences, and coordinate volunteers to improve the school environment.

We Support Enrichment Activities

Art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness. Visual arts teach learners about color, layout, perspective, and balance: all techniques that are necessary in presentations (visual, digital) of academic work. The art program at Monterey Ridge Elementary School is led by our wonderful art teacher, Ms. Kara. Ms. Kara is a California-based artist and loves teaching art to all ages. The foundation has also helped to establish the Cre8iv Space at MRES, where students dive into art lessons with Ms. Kara.

Physical education provides cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for physical activity and physical fitness. By supporting MRES to establish physical education, we are able to provide students with the ability and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime.

We Support Additional Staff and School Supplies

We Support Healthy Habits

In a school garden setting children can be exposed to important social skills, such as interpersonal, communication, anger control, and stress management. These skills are extremely important to ensure socially responsible adults. School gardens provide an opportunity for group work to take place. Monarch Garden began in 2009 and has provided many learning opportunities to the students and food to the community. The Monarch Garden provides a wonderful learning environment where the students can dive into hands on learning in science, math, nutrition, and more!

Would you like to join us in the MRES Garden? During the school year, (Level 1) volunteers are more than welcome to join during classroom visits! During the summer, all students and their families are welcome to help us prepare the garden for the new school year.
